Statutory Accountant

Role summary:


As a Statutory Accounting you will be supporting the UKI Financial Reporting Manager in the successful delivery of legal entity Controllership, ensuring compliance with global policy. This role involves partnering with both internal and external stakeholders, including outsourced service providers and consultants. The role requires a driven individual to deliver on the regular reporting requirements for UK compliance, highly motivated and engaged to deliver timely and accurate financial information. The successful candidate will be primarily tasked with supporting the group and statutory audit processes for UK entities and the preparation and review of the statutory financial statements for these UK entities.

 

Your Responsibilities:


  • Manage the statutory audit processes, including co-ordination between the auditors, outsourced providers in India (FSC), the business and retained finance across the clusters as the key C&W contact for external Auditor
  • Improve process to minimise the cost of SFS production, review and audit including optimisation of system functionality and automation and ensuring the best use of the FSC.
  • Responsible for managing on-time delivery and quality of overseas branch final reconciled Trial Balances and supporting documentation.
  • Pro-actively manage external Auditor, ensuring that all PBC deliverables are delivered on time. 
  • Manage responses audit queries and findings.
  • Support CIT (Corporation Tax) computation process that is owned by the in-house Tax department.
  • Support legal entity rationalisation projects, providing technical accounting guidance as required.
  • Provide intercompany balance confirmations to support local overseas audit requirements.
  • Create efficiencies through continuous improvement of processes.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as they arise

 

Your profile:


  • Two – four years’ experience in a auditing (preferably BIG4 environment)/ in accounting.
  • Excellent communication in English.
  • Technical accounting skills. IFRS (FRS101) Essential, US GaaP Desirable.
  • Proven project management skills to facilitate coordination of key stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an organised, logical approach is essential.
  • Excellent communicator, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, a ‘key thinker’ who manages deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to complex accounting entries.
  • Adaptable and energetic, with ability to work as part of a team, as well as under their own initiative.
  • Workday (ERP) and Hyperion (HDM) experience is desirable.
  • Experience working in a large, global company is desirable.
  • Experience working in an outsourced Finance environment would be an advantage.
