The Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS) is an established and financed organization by the Luxembourgish government in November 2022. Our mission is to facilitate and promote the generation of value from public sector data in Luxembourg (and support at the Europe level), aligning with the government's vision to position the country as a leader in the data economy. 

 

Collaborating closely with public stakeholders and industry partners, we create data spaces to enable efficient and responsible data reuse, playing a vital role in establishing a thriving research and innovation ecosystem. As a provider of services, we support the sharing and reutilization of data for both public and private data partners. 

 

Additionally, we are committed to becoming a key contributor to the European Data Spaces, outlined in the European Commission's data strategy. By harnessing the potential of data, we aim to accelerate Luxembourg's economic, ecological, and societal transitions in smarter and more sustainable ways.

 

We are fast growing, from 7 initial employees to 35 in December 2023 and 49 in March 2024. We plan to grow up to 60 by the end of year 2024.


As an IT Support Engineer, your responsibilities include delivering user support by addressing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues for internal staff and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems by actively monitoring performance, implementing adjustments, and maintaining accurate documentation of systems configurations.

What you will do 


  • You will assist internal staff and external stakeholders in the installation and configuration of software and hardware, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • You will maintain the company IT assets in our Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • You will procure and maintain all end-user equipment devices.
  • You will be responsible for the management of the ticketing system and the resolution of support requests.
  • You will collaborate with other IT teams and external vendors to address issues and enhance software applications.
  • You will oversee the maintenance, monitoring and optimization of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and networking components.
  • You will follow up on technical queries and provide prompt feedback.
  • You will document reports detailing errors and discrepancies for further analysis and resolution.
  • You will serve as a technical expert in European Union (EU) projects.
  • You will create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, architectural diagrams, and compliance reports.
  • You will represent LNDS in various external meetings, conferences, and gatherings with the respective stakeholders.
  • You will participate in conducting system audits for ISO 27001 compliance, and identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. 
  • You will assist in managing the Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions in place.


Who you are


  • You have a BSc or MSc degree in a scientific, technological, or engineering discipline related to computer science, information technology, or computing. 
  • You have 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in an IT support position.
  • You have expert knowledge in Windows and macOS administration.
  • You have demonstrated experience in Azure AD, inTune, or other IAM and MDM solutions.
  • You have experience with service desk and ticketing systems.
  • You have experience with systems monitoring tooling.
  • You have experience with ITIL/ITSM and/or FitSM.
  • Working knowledge in shell/bash/powershell is a plus.
  • Experience with systems monitoring tooling is a plus.
  • Experience with git is a plus.
  • You have creative, solution-oriented with strong analytical skills and a mindset for quality.
  • You have critical thinking, you are adaptable and flexible and you can accept and manage changes in the workplace.
  • You have cultural intelligence and diversity consciousness.
  • Excellent communication skills in English. 
  • Working knowledge of one of Luxembourg’s official languages (French, German, or Luxembourgish) is a plus.
